Edited 2 years agoThis edition is slightly above average soundwise, the soundstage is not terribly wide, but the definition of the instruments is particularly striking when compared to the digital US counterpart of the same period, also too bright for my taste. Surely this press boasts quite a lot of space in of dynamicsm, but in of frequencies it's certainly less convincing and a little too focused on the mediums: so there's little air to the highs and overall the sound can feel a bit squeaking at times, but the lows are punchy and make listening very immersive. There are also some mild distortion, particulary at the A-side end, where the last song ends with a very dynamic and loud orchestral rock finale.
Definitely a release faithful to the production period, one wonders what it would be like to listen to the original master tape...
