A mixed bag if truth be told.
The pressing quality is high, just like the HMV 1921 clear vinyl ive got. Flat and quiet (when cleaned). But the sound is unfortunately not upto the standard of the deluxe CD edition ive got which sounds cleaner, more expansive and more extended at both ends. But worst of all - and even using my most advanced microline stylus - the ends of sides have baked in distortion which does cause elements to break up here and there. The fuzzy guitar in the right channel of Out Of Town for example... not heard on digital versions at all.
I would be curious to see if the og vinyl was cut better because whoever cut these ones must have been inexperienced.... i mean its not like we are 25mins a side here!!
Great, GREAT album best served by good old compact disc imho -

Have to add to the chorus here. My reference point for this album is CD, however the sound of these vinyls is up there with some of my best records - just the best sounding way to hear this great album and really highlights the supreme talent that was in the studio here. Recommended! -
Wonderful pressing. No discernible background noise and fantastically dynamic sound. Sounds better than my original CD. Just perfect and shows just how good vinyl can be.
