A cleverly crafted, slick affair that takes equal steps in both directions (vocal and instrumental), doesn't owe allegiance to any one genre and reveals further production details with every repeated play (it ranked as 2001’s 53rd best-selling studio album released in that year, later reaching platinum status). -
Edited 2 years agoI would listen to this album on repeat while studying in college; man such lucid memories of how great this was for me as a background relaxer; 20 year later retuned back to it and still love it; Thank you Zero 7 for this musical jamboree of love, peace and tranquility. Total positive vibes! -
Edited 3 years agoExcellent album, ground-breaking in a way. Distractions is quite simply one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. A really good mix of ambient styles. And does anyone think that the 2nd part of Polaris bears a striking resemblance to the Doves' Firesuite? Very similar in a sort of homage way (Firesuite came out a year earlier on Lost Souls).
