My copy sounds really good, some noise on the last track but it’s not really bad since the last song is so quiet anyways 👍

My copy was covered in Mould Release Agent , probably causing the noise issues in the posts below. A wet clean has removed all traces of this and my copy is now perfect. Noise free with no clicks or pops. Nice sound and soundstage.

Not really a great pressing as far as I can tell - quite a bit of surface noise with occasional audible pops straight from the seal. Still, I'm glad this exists, as I was not about to pay over double the price for an earlier pressing.

Edited one year agoI’ve listened to the A side twice, once through my speakers and again in my headphones. Apart from one or two incredibly faint pops/clicks my copy sounds excellent. I purchased from Amazon (yes, I know 🙃) in the UK and I’m very happy with how it sounds. Shame that the black inner sleeve isn’t poly-lined but I’ve fixed that and swapped it for another inner sleeve.
Update: Have now listened to the B-side which also sounds good apart from the last track, ‘falling ashes’. This is definitely the quietest track on the album and sadly there is quite a bit of surface noise. It’s a real shame as it’s such a beautiful song. It’s enough to take my rating down by one star sadly 😢
Setup: Rega Planar 1 turntable, Rega io amp, Rega Kyte speakers and Sennheiser HD25 phones. -
Edited one year agoUpdate: Got a new copy and its been great.
Had problems just getting this one as there were delays at the pressing plant.
Anyway this one is much clearer and actually plays through ! -
Can someone figure out where this was pressed? It sounds amazing, but the vinyl is very noisy, not heavyweight, and comes in a plain black paper sleeve, which makes me highly doubt it was pressed at RTi (even though they cut the lacquer).
