The LPs themselves are fine. Clean and flat. The recording is horrible though. I'm not sure if ABBA fans wanted to like it so bad that they just accepted it as a great release but it's not. It sounds like the mic was set up in the audience or something like that. The vocals are horrible.
I believe people think this is how a live album sounds. It's not. Such a shame for such a great band. -
Bad bad bad vinyl sound. Strange vocals, compressed soundstage, it's CD sound on vinyl. No separate analog mastering has been done for sure. It's a pity.
Not worth for vinyl lovers. -

Edited 3 years agoRecording has a wide soundstage and in my opinion a perfectly strong bass. The vocals however feel a bit far in the back, muffled almost. Which can be seen as something positive like you are in the audience and not too close to them, but you miss the clarity. Also, there is something that makes the more busy songs sound very rushed and messy. Doesn’t give a warm feeling.
Nonetheless, very happy to own this 3-record live concert on vinyl.
Also very happy with the extra booklet and inner sleeve design. -
I purchased my copy brand new in December 2021 but it did not come with a code so maybe those just came with initial copies. No biggie but for those expecting it….don’t!

Mediocre happy with this release. It was on my wantlist for a long time, because I did not want to buy the 2014 ****up. Had high expectations for the 2020 release, as Miles did the remastering. He did a good job for the Stones box set, and many other Abby Road half speed masters. But I don't understand how he could bring this to the market with these much too heavy bass. It's listenable, but a little moderation on the eq's is necessary. It's okay, but still a missed opportunity.

The music sound of the vinyl is pretty good and very clear like you are there, but the voices sound like they are extracted from 64kbps mp3 sound, very muffed.
I did a comparison with the Super Trouper half speed master vinyl, in which the last song is on abba live too, and the voices on the super trouper vinyl were very clean. (i dont know though because it is included in a studio release album, maybe the voices are enhanced in the studio and thats why are clearer). -
Edited 4 years agoI can't fault this pressing in any way - the vinyl is nice and heavy, feels like great quality, very quiet, almost no noise when playing (I agree with others, though, that cover feels somewhat slight for three heavy LPs) - but still I'm less than enthusiastic about this release, simply because I feel the audio mix is ... bad, for lack of better word. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, it just feels extremely busy and exhausting to listen to, currently listening to Gimme Gimme Gimme, and the vocals are a constant bombardment of the ear, as if each individual track has been heavily compressed/leveled before making the final mix of the combined tracks (even though the dynamic range of the combined mix is not too bad). The vinyl sounds better than the CD, which has a muddy bass that drowns out everything else, which is not as bad on the vinyl, even though I feel it's still somewhat bottom heavy. It's a real pity, because the performance is cracking, but I must say the sound mix of my old (incomplete) bootleg CD recorded off the radio (if I'm not mistaken) sounds more pleasant than this official release.
EDIT > Having now made a needle drop and worked on it for a while, I can say that the main issue with this recording is definitely equalization: It's WAY too bass heavy. Cutting down the low end significantly and increasing the high end is basically like lifting a heavy duvet off the speakers, suddenly the vocals and drums come out clear, and the music sounds great. I still think the keyboards are mixed too low, there are places where I can barely hear keyboard parts that come through clear on the old radio mix. -
Absolutely hands down fantastic pressing, sleeve is tight for 3 heavy weight Vinyls. The soundstage is wide, vocals are alive, bass on a heavy side...overall amazing vinyl, feels like you are in the concert, a true gem!

I can only confirm everybody. 3 LPs in one sleeve, being heavy weight they barely fit. Once said that be aware if the 2014 was that bad, this is the other extreme. Probably the best cut of vinyl made in 2020 and I guess it is gonna cost a fortune in 2030.
