This is one of my favorite vinyl LPs. The soundstage is amazing and my copy is very quiet which is so important for this recording. Highly recommend.

In reference to a 4th variant, VDJ-1512-1 83122. This is not mono, or monaural, but duophonic. Indeed, re-channeled for stereo... or some such bad idea.

Its not as terrible as AP's Relaxin' which has tape issues galore but this still sounds soft, bass player shy and musically dead vs the more humble packaged and priced recentish OJC which has a LIFE that this one can only dream of. I swear people see AP and KPG and that because another persons spunked off with hyperbole, they just repeat what that other person says verbatim without actually listening to records or comparing them. This isnt terrible and the tapes at least not fudged but its easily the worst sounding version ive heard taking in the OJC cd and vinyl and a Jap SHM disc.

Just brilliant. I can not imagine it gets any better than this. Sheer excellence in every way. Crisp sounding, coherent, lively. Insanely quiet, there's nothing but music. Packaging as always top notch. But it's about the music ofcourse, and that sound...

Such a poor pressing/reissue. Quite bizarre hearing all the instruments playing from dead centre, as if they were stacked on top of each other.

One thing is certain, flat and quiet, as almost always from JAZZ WAX. It sounds clean and exciting. For everyday listening, I recommend it 100%.

I paid exactly 18.95 DM (9.40 euros) for the German stereo reissue (Original Jazz Classics) in 1987. With a good cartridge (Koetsu Rosewood), it sounds smoother and more light-footed than the 2022 mono repress from Analogue Productions (58 euros), which I played with an Ortofon SPU/MPU MONO cartridge. Freshly unpacked, it has a slight treble punch (Relaxin with Miles as well) and is therefore not worth 45 euros in of sound, let alone 58 euros.
