Notes
"Voyage" is the first new ABBA album in 40 years, following "The Visitors" (1981).
The album contains mainly new material, except:
– "I Still Have Faith In You" has parts of the melody lifted from the Benny Andersson instrumental "Kyssen", from the 2015 film 'Cirkeln'.
– "Just A Notion" is an outtake from "Thank You For The Music" box set in 1994. The vocals are from the original 1978 recording, the instrumentation is re-recorded.
– "Little Things" is based on the 2007 instrumental "Godnattvisa" by BAO 3".
(Despite its title, "Bumblebee" has nothing to do with "Free As A Bumblebee", an unreleased song included in "ABBA Undeleted").

Listening to this for only the second time today. I recall the first time being unenjoyable thanks to massive amounts of compression and brickwalling, and cringey lyrics. Today, thanks to nicer speakers and giving it another chance, it's not so bad. Not so good either but I'm glad it happened. 40 years between albums must have even beat Peter Gabriel's record. -
I just arrived home from London after attending the ABBA Arena last night, bought a copy of this for the wife. Great quality pressing, includes the poster and postcard. No mention of Half speed mastering on the runouts of this version. Price a very reasonable £20. If any of you get the chance you really need to see that show, I'm not a fan and I was totally amazed by the effects. -

New vinyl also needs to be cleaned, but this one needs cleaning twice, on my copy at least.

Edited one year agoMaybe the ugliest version of this record. I can't think of a worse combination of colors... No, I'm not bitter. I wouldn't spend a cent in something like this, I didn't try to get one. Zero interest.
PS: the troll Joker 1980 can keep his "opinion" for her/himself, I don't really care about it. -

In general the recording is well made, but the tape seems to be a bit sticky so on players with a weaker motor wow and flutter is noticeable. -
Looks beautiful. Sounds like shit. Endless crackle and pops all the way through both sides. Garbage vinyl -
Die Qualität der Picture Disc ist extrem schlecht, Knacken, Rauschen und keine Dynamik und man hört schon Teile des Titels 3 Sekunden bevor der Titel eigentlich anfängt.
Die Qualitätskontrolle hat hier völlig vresagt -

The worst ‘new’ pressing I’ve ever owned - without exaggeration! The record was covered in dust and fingerprints(!) and has more crackles than a frying pan. The record was bought as new, sealed with hype sticker, but I’ve got cheap 30+ year old charity shop finds with better clarity. After a proper clean it sounds better, but still not what I'd have expected from a band of ABBAs stature.
However, It is brilliant to have new ABBA music and I'm thrilled with the album itself. Don't Shut Me Down really wouldn't sound out of place on ABBA Gold. Just a shame they showed no quality control over their actual pressing.
