Really nice to have this on vinyl. Overall it has a good sound, but the record is dirty. I cleaned it before playing as I do all my records, but the stylus picked up so much dirt it splattered the cartridge lol. I cleaned it up and the second play through the static was much better or even gone. First play through tons of static. Good otherwise.

I'd chip in and say it is as good as a reissue of an early ninetees original digital recording could ever hope to be on vinyl. Love how distinct and clear the vocals are, both Rob's main and the backing vocals stand out and have excellent presence in the recording, sounding warm and detailed. Obviously, the vibes are immaculate in the music. Filling your room with a smokey haze (or is it purple?). My pressing was clean and super quiet, so no complaints there either. No frills, no extras, delivers exactly what's to be expected. Sounds punchy and warm. Rrcommended.

First the pressing--has no business sounding this good. Bass thumps, vocals pop, and sounds awesome for so much music per side.
Now the album--they are no one-hit wonder. As a kid in the 90's I loved "Connected" and the song still holds up today. But man, every song on this album absolutely kills. The grooves, delivery, backing vocals, lyrics, everything is just top-notch. I say this without hesitation that this album is one of the best of 90s hands down. -
Edited 3 years agoI think this pressing sounds mighty fine. Havnt done a comparison with my cd but I love the warm bass and overall sound. I guess it depends how close to ground level youre on ;)
Play it loud. Using Rega rp1. Highly recommended if you love this album. -

referencing Connected (CD, Album) 314-514 061-2
1992's "Connected" was the big album for Rob B & company, better known as the Stereo MC's. The funky and upbeat atmosphere never leaves the party during the 56 minutes of play.
This delicious catchy album has soul written all over it, with killer grooves & beats, as well as very cool singing & rapping with a delicious British accent.
The intro of "Connected" is already enough to "elevate your mind" (here's your "Supernatural" reference) to a universe filled with dance, recklessness and joyful vibes.
I especially fell in love immediately with the oldschool keyboards of "Ground Level", the laidback ambiance of "Sketch" and the entertaining breakbeat of "Creation".
When it comes to funky and soulful hip-hop, there's not that much artists that comes close to the Stereo MC's in catchiness, intelligence and studio arrangement. "Connected" will definitely fit the bill if you need music to cruise down the highway during a roadtrip.
Disconnect your mind from work, connect your speakers and let your connected neurons send dance moves messages to your body.
I really ire this LP that I discovered too late, yet I still consider "Deep Down & Dirty" my favorite LP from theirs by a very small margin. -
This is a great sounding re-release of one of Stereo MC's best albums. My copy is really quiet and sounds right where it should be. Full and punchy, clean bass and lower mids. I don't pine for the original album with this. This release is fine for any collector.
