Agreed - he was probably the mod I had most with on my subs - was very helpful and taught me a lot about subbing properly....even if he did slap me down a few times as well ;-). Was a good guy and his enthusiasm was great, even if you didnt always agree.

Also, has anyone heard from onelittle - brilliant editor, was always really pleasant and constructive in his comments and also helped me a lot.

I'm still monitoring the threads, and I've popped a few votes down on particularly bad subs - not in any form of of V4 but more because I couldn't stand to see such terrible subs exist; data abuse makes me grind my teeth together which is why I've rarely looked through subs in recent days.

Every day I contemplate oggercide and hover my mouse over the link. The only thing that is keeping me here is that I don't want my voice and the work I've done here to dissolve into anonymity. The thought that every comment and idea I've ever put forth would suddenly become blank is a fate worse than oggercide, IMO - I've put too many hours into this site and its forums to simply wipe the slate clean as though I never existed.

I've been a shit-disturber at times, and I am indeed stubborn and set in my opinions. But in most cases, disagreement or not, I have had respect for all of those I worked with on this site - even mods like mawiles that I simply could not see eye-to-eye with on many levels.

The only people I have absolutely zero respect for are teo, because they have shown a complete lack of respect for this community, this site, and the history of both. If ever I could be struck speechless, it would most likely be by their utter disregard for everything this site and its s stood for and their complete, intentional ignorance of the will of the people.

They claim that they are acting in good faith for the average - and yet when every single comment on the site from all s, old and new, mod and non-mod alike has been overwhelmingly negative, all that is proven in the end is that they are only acting for themselves.

If they truly wished to do what the 'average ' wanted, they would have shitcanned this whole, ridiculous 'upgrade' from the moment of its inception.

Hey...I was one of the original editors here at Discogs. It was taken away with no warning or explanation while I was doing a tour of the Middle East for the US military. I guess I was truly MIA sometime in 2003/2004.

Have I ever gotten it back? No...I only re-applied once, and received no word about it.

As for an alternative to Discogs...
All Music Guide isn't bad...not great either...it does have music samples though. Not a viable replacement though.

I haven't voted even once since V4 (March 11) and I'm not planning to do anything to contribute to discogs anymore so you can add me as inactive.

I hate to say it, but i haven't been active in voting for the past week because v4 is so cumbersome, so much inaccuracy/incorrect things are going on and just glancing at some artist pages makes me sick just seeing all the existing problems.

I can't even vocalize right now how disheartened I am with Discogs. All the effort and dedication we put into something so incredible only to have the foundation taken out from underneath it. Clear examples of abuse and mis-use are filling up. I mean, I can only complain along with everyone else and hope for some sort of revision and revert or at least some more open-minded dialog, I'd be all in. I'd be even more dedicated to help not only build the database, but build the system that enables it to exist via beta testing, reviewing system requirements/ input, etc. But that seems like it will never happen and the way things are this site will either decay, implode or just disappear completely in due time.
