This here is not about the music itself, but about this pressing.
The pressing quality itself is really good.

The master they have chosen to press on this is, well, questionable.
    If not just a nightmare.

Horrible compressed to the absolute maximum. I do not get why they did that, but it sounds more like a mp3 CD with music ripped by kazaa in the early 2000s than a good record. I‘m listening to it again now, and it is just bad.

    It causes ear fatigue!

I heard two other records before in one session, and they were also not any „audiophile stuff“… but they sounded so much better than this record.

Compressed is really the word in my opinion for this one here.

Most likely a digital master but it sounds great! Clean flat pressing. Dynamic with a nice full sound and at a decent price!

Good album and sadly the LP is not exactly the greatest pressing master wise, but it is still the best way to listen to this since it is not as distorted and clipped as the CD release. Keep that in mind if you consider purchasing this album on LP.

Kavinsky sampled: Serge Gainsbourg - Le Physique Et Le Figuré OST 1981, for his track "Dead Cruiser"

Good ideas but the mastering is mediocre... too loud...

I can't listen to the CD album, it's just way too loud, i'll have a listen when i can get a decent turntable (which won't be for a while)

Rampage track is a rip from the music of the manga Dragon ball Z....

No not Kavinsky copied Drive. Drive is Kavinsky. He had exactly this style for years. The movie breaths the dust of Kavinskys raw 80s/french/electro sound. Kavinsky is more than "just" Drive. This movie is great, as this album is.

Like most people I discovered Kavinsky with Nightcall (or should I say Drive). Yet the album is so boring that you end up wondering if you would have even noticed Nightcall if you had discovered it in this collection of insipidity. An arpeggiator and a few (good) influences don't do the trick.
