Obtained the mono in January 2025. This is one psych record that lives up to the hype. Nice eclectic blend coupled with fuzz. Just right!
And the cover..... one of the best ever! -
Seriously for $2,000 we looking at just intact. I guess it’s a given. For what it’s worth, the cover art really matches the music. July thankfully is still playing live. Still delivering great performances. It’s always great to see a band have a happy ending.

Beware of this record! This is a great album, BUT the supposed "stereo" mixes on some releases are NOT TRUE STEREO. It's one of those crappy mixes companies used back in the day for the excuse to put "stereo" on the record. The entire song is panned to the left and there is some echo on the right. Those expecting actual stereo, beware! Stick with mono, sounds so much better.

Edited 6 years agoThere is a uk major minor stereo pressing of this but only a white label test pressing, plain white labels with just “test” printed on each side and SLP-029-A-2L / SLP-029-B-2L stamped in runouts, also has S.E.L at 12 o’clock stamped in runouts and label grove like the standard issue. No cover.

Anyone know if a Stereo version of this exists? The stereo Major Minor stereo version listed on RYM seems to be a myth. Do a search for it and you get no actual results. So, is the US issue on EPIC actually stereo as stated on the labels?
The reason I ask is because all the CD issues to date are mono.
Anyway, as I'm in with him on Facebook, I posed the question to Tom Newman, who answered "It was recorded on x2 4track studer machines - same format as sgt pepper, but it all fell apart so soon after that I never knew whether it appeared in stereo or not . . . I've never heard a stereo album, though I seem to it was mixed in stereo . . ."
So, nothing conclusive there. So, can any Discogger with an EPIC copy answer this?
