Not gonna lie—I bought the album for the title track, but spinning side A right now and this album is such a vibe! Future classic album imo. This pressing sounds great.

Dope collection; one which is an even better follow up to his debut "Electric Dusk" which was very good. Underneath all its modernisms (hip hop leanings, use of the "n" word and sexual vulgarities) - this is really a "classic" soul record rich with butter-mellow melodies, love-man crooning, and adept arrangements - that would work in any era. Fitting that this drops on the Motown label because Leon Thomas III fits in alongside the historic lineage and in some ways he is a successor to Marvin Gaye. If Gaye was still alive, still recording, still on Motown, I could imagine Gaye would pair well with this young'un. The vinyl is decent - the pressing was somewhat noisy, the mastering a tad compressed and a bit "murky" on some tracks (cf. I Do). A good clean and we were good. The songs are consistently good, and the vocal and music performances are engaging - overall a great Soul music release for 2024.
