Edited 2 years agoJust got one through from a US Amazon seller as that's pretty much the only source or US eBay for UK. Disc 1 is a little warped, but nothing that affects play, i have a feeling that may be due to storage rather than production though.
SQ wise, it's really well balanced for the style of music, nice, full low end which is required I think, nice balance through the highs. Voices are clear and slightly forward in the mix. Dead quiet background, I really do mean dead quiet.
Lovely album, I'm so pleased to have been recommended her, even if I am quite late to the party.
Playback through:
Rega Planar 3 2016 with Ortofon 2M Blue with TTPSU
Trichord Dino Mk 3 Phono stage with Dino+ PSU
Primaluna Evo 100 Integrated amp
Buchardt S300 MKII -
Got two copies from Target... both have a defect towards the end of Side B, song Pigment. Both copies also arrived with slight warping. Other than that, sounds amazing. Definitely needs a good cleaning before play.

I got it for a super good deal. It was like 17 dollars on amazon, so I bought it. The sound quality is super good, especially for how cheap it was. I do feel like some songs are similar though, but it is really good background music. Her voice and the compositions of the songs are really nice.

Got from Target for $17, this might be one of the cleanest records I own, super dynamic, bass hits, vocals are very prominent. Highly recommend for any modern R&B listener

Favorite Artist of All Time, I Highly Recommend Listening To Her Voice and Her Music. She Has Such a Beautiful Soul and It's Relates To Me So Well.

I love these 2 EP's and glad to see them put together. Unfortunately I am one of those that got it from amazon.com and mine was damaged as well. It came from the presser as it was in its shrink with the hype sticker. The vinyl play perfect other than the damaged spot and bass certainly is deep.

Edited 6 years agoMine has prominent surface noise. No skips, but definitely noticeable and pervasive throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to process an exchange, if necessary. Definitely clean it before you spin it (always a good idea anyway). I’ll give it another cleaning and a second spin. I’m keeping mine as I don’t know if I’d get a better copy or a worse one...and it doesn’t bother me to the point that I want/need another copy. So good. Def looking forward to more from H.E.R.

Edited 6 years agoLots of reviews at Amazon about skipping on multiple tracks. Luckily that's not happening here. It's a nice warm pressing with just the right mastering. Nice to see both EP's brought together and spead out over four sides. No wonder Alicia Keys called her "My gurrrl" on The 2019 Grammy's, as there are many similarities here. It's great to hear a black artist do songs without endless guest rappers. Just letting H.E.R. own light shine. It has a nice low end that even with your bass control maxed out doesn't distort. One for the subwoofers for sure. Playing back with a Technics SL-1200 MK2 and a Stanton 680 HP.
