Was hoping for a big sound stage but it sounds compressed
And on the quieter sound. Don’t these guys own the own pressing plant? -
Edited 9 months agoGood album. Pearl Jam always do it again
Poor pressing, Too bad!
Spotify sounds better :-) -
Edited 10 months agoSent first vinyl copy back because of the dreadful sound, in particular towards the end of each side, replacement had the same issues, luckily I got a refund, great album but this pressing from the Czech Republic is garbage.

Edited one year agoSeems identical to other entry. Presuming duplicate record. The other seems to have arrived first. If not duplicate, please explain difference. https://discogs.versitio.com/release/30442388-Pearl-Jam-Dark-Matter

Edited one year agoMusically a fantastic album. Sonically, I don’t like it. Masses of brick wall compression on the bass and drums, and so it makes most songs pulsate with bass, and each time it pulsates, it pushes the guitars out of the way, as if everything’s trying to push the other instruments out of the way, as if each instrument is fighting to be out front. Sonically this makes it very fatiguing to the ear. And the snare sound on a lot of the tracks (coupled with this compression) sounds amateurish. Way WAY WAY over produced. Sounds like everything has been drenched in digital effects. I don’t expect this from Pearl Jam.

Edited 11 months agoThe looks are stunning, as well as the sleeve as the record itself.
And indeed the vinyl is flat and quiet.
But soundwise it's a disaster. Lifeless, dull, messy, no dynamics. A waist of money.
It's a shame that PJ delivers such a sound quality for such a price.
"They will buy it anyway, don't let us put too much effort and money in it"...... -
Honestly I was afraid of the sound quality, it's the opposite! Sounds very good, flat , quiet and sounds natural not as compressed and overproduced like some people said ( maybe CD ? Or streaming?)
Let me be clear, this not an " audiophile pressing " but a very decent vinyl and a amazing record -

This record looks fantastic, album sleeve and artwork great. Most importantly the record not only looks stunning but plays perfectly. Flat and quiet! The album music speaks for itself well worth it.
