Incredible! This 33/BG TBM series is off the charts, as is the playing on this one!! Let’s go.

Another blind buy from hmv that I won't be regretting.

I think it is mastered perfectly, very nice and pleasant sound, also the soundstage is really great here, feels like they are playing in my living room.

Only downside: There is a distorted noise on one of the wind instruments only audible in the very last part of B1. As there is no version of this online, I cannot tell if the distorted noise is in all versions or not. Maybe someone can confirm this?

This record sounds extraordinary. My copy looked almost perfect, and there were maybe 2 light clicks throughout the entire record. It is volumed a little on the low side, so I turned it up; and the vinyl was still silent throughout.

The drums appear in the left channel, while the trombone and keyboards are in the right channel. The bass is tucked in the back. Mine's sax is slightly to the right of center.

The drums can really rock when needed - you feel them. The cymbals have complete decay. The bass can get to almost subsonic frequencies on occasion. All of the brass sounds like it should.

          Overall, this is excellent.

I bought this on the strength of the Impex TBM boxset and a couple of other Wa-Jazz represses, and so I was unfamiliar with the music.

Needless to say, this is incredible: just top draw musicianship - inventive, melodic, fun. The record itself is well pressed, flat, clean, and the mastering is dynamic with really clarity. It stands up alongside any other audiophile pressing in my collection.

It appears to be a limited pressing - and so, if you're into this kind of thing, it would be sensible to grab this while you can.
