When it doesn’t have the GZ distortion of quality goin on this album sounds awesome. Unfortunately it has the right channel sandpaper sound GZ is known for. Tried 3 copies and unfortunately they all had it. Really wish the label would switch pressing plants. This album deserves better.

This version beats original vinyl version by a notch. It’s more transparent, and a tad « hotter ». it also seems to be pressed better, my copy has less surface noise than the original. The vinyl seems to be remastered (a new laquer cut) which can explain the difference. But they didn’t even bother to repress the sleeve with the proper credits. The new vinyl mastering can be derived from info in the runout. However, the improvements are not by a large margin. I still think this magnificent record would massively benefit from a proper 4-side 45 rpm mastering. It’s simply a bit too much to cram on two sides. For now the CD is still the best sounding option.

Anyone get the chance to play test this? Wondering if it is a cleaner pressing than previous versions. Thanks!
