Incredible music and pressing. Very full. Love the mastering. One of the best sounding albums in my collection

Just bought this for $22 on the big A, worth every penny and more. Flat, quiet (like dead quiet in between tracks) and excellent definition and dynamics. Such a deal.

Edited 9 months agoThis is a GREAT reissue! Gave mine a cleaning as I do with every LP prior to listening. Very quiet with nice quality vinyl. The sound of this is simply amazing...so much presence and a feeling they are right there in the room with you. I have a Japanese pressing of this album also in near mint condition...it won't see much playing time anymore I'm afraid! Grabbed this on Amazon for $22 when it was on sale last week.

Excellent alround, no issues at all. Sounds good. Great playing albeit that grew on me in the 2nd and 3rd listens!
-
Overall a good pressing but not 5 star. Noticed some minor non-fill on the first song of side B. Also had a few pops towards the end of side B. Mine is not warped nor visibly scratched. Definitely has some not so balanced stereo, but doesnt bother me that much.

Mine a bit warped and scratched, but no influence on quality. Great pressing, even if the stereo is a bitch harsch. All in all no 5 stars, ii’ve hoped it would be the perfect pressing for me.
-
Simply put these pressing make the Blue Note Tone Poet series look mediocre. From the jacket to the quality vinyl it’s truly remarkable.

Love this record, great ballads. Paul Chambers playing some fine bass lines. The rest of the brilliant rhythm section is smokin'. This is a must have record for me, great melodies, great harmonies, strong improv. Top horn playing, stunning clarity, This is what jazz is about, highly recommended.

Edited one year agoGreat music but to me the stereo is not great, they put the soloist always on hard right and this is way to extreme for me. Like on the Beatles records, way to much. Also the Bass is to much left. The sound is not bad, dynamics are great, music fantastic, I don't get it why not more here complain about this hard panning?

Edited one year agoGreat music and delivery by Verve/Acoustic Sounds. Yes, a bit bright and - by exception - a good quality pressing this time. Generally, I have issues with every 2nd release which I have to return mainly due to bad warping. It is a pity that the mostly highly regarded QRP pressing plant seems not be that consistent in quality in the medium price range any longer.
