Great sounding pressing. Quiet, heavy and centered. This record has always had a very tight sounding mix. That's the beauty of it. The drums, bass and guitars are all tight and right down the middle typical of a Metallica mix. I think many people expect all music to be mixed the same; exaggerated highs and bass, and scooped mids. Not the case with IJFA. This mix is the best I've ever heard. Well worth the $30.

Edited 25 days agoBass is not lacking — if anyone thinks they’re experiencing missing bass frequencies, I advise them to put it on a meter and have a look, get better speakers, real speakers that actually move air, or otherwise have their hearing checked by a professional. What I think they’re hearing is excellent high fidelity definition and separation, not a compressed mid section that appears louder. It has not been mid-boosted nor have engineers brickwalled a heavily compressed mix so that everything is at the same volume level. These guitars sound fantastic — I’ve played in a band with similar equipment. It’s all there in the sound. Even My Bose 301 IIIs are shaking the pictures on the walls and the bass section of the EQ is thrumming like the modified exhaust on my neighbor’s truck. It’s almost like a dub record. Good job, boys. Justice For All — including my neighbors who need a little Metallica in their lives.

This pressing is great. It sounds as good as it gets. On the bass issue, I will never understand people complaining about something missing that never was there in the first place, it's kind of absurd!!

Really good sounding pressing, of course the bass can be quite weak but then again it's AJFA so it's hard to fault the pressing for that.

I will disappoint you with vitevalery, in nature there are no records on vinyl at all (regardless of the year of publication, regardless of the publisher’s label) containing this album with a bass guitar.
Everything that came out will be released in reissues, unfortunately, the bass guitar will not appear on any of them.
Perhaps only some miracle will happen. and for the next anniversary of the album, maybe they will all get together and re-record.
The best edition of this album that I have seen is:
Metallica_ ...And Justice For All 1988 Universal 600753135440 4 _ Vinyl, LP, 45 RPM, Album, Remastered , Reissue 2008 BOX Europe
As you understand, there is no bass on this release either, but Bernie Grundman did a great job there with two bass drums. At least something worked out, even if they added drums to the recording instead of bass. -
It doesn`t matter what pressing of this record you have. Even being an old metallica fan the "no bass guitar" mix with scooped mids is sh*t. You may like it or not, it is up to the listener for sure. I don’t like it. The LP itself however is a heavy good quality press with zero surface noise.
