This is a perfect pressing, bright, punchy and no background noise, played with an Ortofon 2M Blue and Project Debut Carbon Esprit SB DC.

Edited 4 years agoI think this is a fantastic pressing. It is very punchy and the sound is crisp. I believe they pulled the maximum out of the master tapes here. Fantastic. [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]

Edited 5 years agoAnyone else notice that the word "three" in "side three" is misspelled as "tree"? Kinda funny, I bought mine at the end of this pressing's life and it still had it. I guess no one noticed it over 8 years or so haha.

My copy is excellent. Plays perfect has no background noise at all. I think it's better then the original pressing. Love all tracks - such a great album. Michael: the world is missing you and your music. Such a shame your not with us anymore . I am Fan 4 ever x. For me one of the most inspiring artist that ever lived...

Recently I’ve purchased this release at a local vinyl store in The Netherlands. Upon listening I was very disappointed with the sound quality. I sounded as if I was listening through a pillow, a dull sound with little vibrance. Noticed several pops/clicks, even after using the carbon brush before it’s first play. Exactly the way reviewer ‘Vibeby’ describes below.
My records also missed some of the labeling and were pressed incorrectly (the center hole was molded wrong). Finally, some of the song were skipping on it’s first play. Unacceptable, definately a bad pressing.
I returned the set to the store and was hesitant to exchange it for a new set since I also wasn’t impressed with the sound quality. I was happy I did exchange it for a new set.
The new set has no strange pressing errors, shows all labels, doesn’t skip and, most importantly, sounds totally awesome! The Black or White intro and first notes sound very impressive, so do the other songs. I literally had a ‘ Jam’ playing these records. “Why you wanna trip on me’ sounds very sharp, but not artificially enhanced, giving you the lows exactly were you’ll expect them.
In the end I ended up playing the full set on it’s first play, listening while doing some work, cooking and, at times, turning up the volume just to confirm over and over this is a very fine release.
Recommended (, but watch out for bad pressings). L.O.V.E. -
finally got this pressing. wanted to compare my old 1991 korean pressing. it's 10 seconds to see how poorly mastered pressing it is. compared the 1991 Korean pressing, channel seperation and dynamics are noticeably poor on this. base is dull. since this album itself was mixed and produced superbly, if one listen only this pressing, the one would think this is a great pressing with a good SQ. bu sorry it's not. it can be so much better on original pressings.

Edited 7 years agoJust side three presented some 'pop' issues, but i think with a good deep cleaning it would sound alright, other than that i thought the rest of the sides sounded amazing
