Incredible. I had been seriously unimpressed with the 2017 reissue, but I just received this one, and it's like the sun came out. Well worth it.

I think they have a typo in the above info. It says it's mastered at "RTI" and I'm pretty sure RTI is a pressing plant only. Can someone confirm this? Can someone also confirm if OR if not there are any digital steps in this release?

If Mike at the In Groove was doing a shoot out on all the Purple Rains ever made I’m 99.9% sure this one would come out on top. The only way I can explain how good it is is to say that you know if in most recordings when you are focusing in on say the cymbals of a song at the beginning and then the rest of the music starts and the cymbal volume sounds lower -kinda lost in the music at that point….. that doesn’t happen here. I’ve listened to this on every format available since it came out in ‘84 and this is the best by far I’ve heard. Pure fidelity and highly recommend if you are a Prince fan.

Listened to on a Rega P6 turntable with Hana ML, McIntosh C2500 & Audeze LCD-X headphones. Now get yourself a copy asap before my review gets out and the prices skyrocket lol

Easily the best version of this album I've heard. The drums are especially engaging and more lively than almost anything I've heard. It is cut a little quiet though so a silent copy is pretty necessary, but incredibly suburb nonetheless.

I just listened to this pressing for the 40th anniversary today and I couldn’t believe my ears..incredibly dynamic and crystal clear. Such a shame this isn’t in print anymore and the digital remaster is the common pressing. Get this one while you can!

Wow. This sounds soooooo good. After being annoyed with the target all purple pressing, I decided to just hunt down a mint copy of this. So glad I did. Dead silent vinyl

Flawless pressing, must own for any collection or fan of prince. Which is weird cause the slipcover isn't anything special, so I was caught off-guard because the record itself was super high quality both in feel, weight, thickness, and sound.

Sounds better than my Japanese pressing. Amazing and well worth the search to find it!
