Edited one year agoThis is currently available on Amazon for £92. For those in the UK looking for this boxset at a cheaper price, it is worth checking there. As for the sound, it is silent which is of great surprise to me because there were quite a few surface scratches from the factory. The quality of the music as ever, is exactly what I expect from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Phenomenal. For the original price, BMG should really have ditched the paper sleeves and replaced them with anti-static ones. The boxset design is simple and no frills, I would have liked the booklet to be a tad more substantial but other than that, I have zero complaints.

I seem to have been lucky - I couldn’t justify the outlay for the original price, recently picked it up for £88 new. All albums correct, minimal warping on a couple of discs, no major sound issues, slight crackling here and there. The box is substantial, as are the individual sleeves. The design is minimalist but I quite like it. The booklet has information on each song, musicians involved, etc.

No issues with my set. #7 was slightly warped but did not affect play. Sounded great on my system (2M blue Ortofon)

Edited 3 years agoAnyone have an extra disc 1? I was so happy to get this in the mail and only to find out that the first LP is so badly warped (concave like a lens as another reviewer pointed out) and it will not play at all on the second side. I just emailed Rough Trade and they offered a full refund or to the record label. I'm hesitant to return the whole thing as I have no idea what I'm getting with the next box. Very frustrating. Aside from that thought, the rest of the records sound great. In the US and would take any advice you can offer me.

fortunately, mine arrived intact, no missing discs. The pressing is fine, flat, queit overall, a little crackle occasionally and on the edges(outer grooves), which i believe is due to the dust, which could have been avoided if a polylined inner was used but they can be cleaned though. master is great. songs in part II is a little weak compared to part I, in my opinion.

Edited 3 years agoFor that money (approx. 170 €) the box set is a joke - as is the artwork. As others mentioned already: no poly-lined inner sleeves, the pressing quality could be by far better and why the hell is no coupon included? Would have been nice to listen to these tracks while being away from the home stereo.
However, the sound quality and mastering sounds pretty good - if the clicks/ticks and surface noise due to the questionable pressing quality would be absent this could have been a fine release.
