Arguably Slowdive's best EP, made even greater by a fantastic pressing. Get it now before it becomes too pricey!

I wish all vinyl pressings were like this. Perfectly flat, not even any coining that is common on records. No pops or clicks at all. Beautifully mastered audio. A rich copper colour, not the red/gold swirl as stated, but that is great because it looks fabulous. Jacket card texture is high quality yet unusual, kind of feels like brushed metal! Wonder if the original was like this?

Yeah, it's definitely not red or gold as d, but I much prefer this. It's kind of a caramel-ish brown.

MOV has delivered well with this EP - it sounds loud and spacious. I have found that this vinyl has the highest quality recording of Alison on vinyl across 3 different Slowdive releases I own (Souvlaki MOV smoke, Souvlaki Japanese bootleg and this EP). It helps that it is cut at 45 RPM and the grooves are more spaced out than on other records. I echo the same sentiment for Souvlaki Space Station. That recording sounds immense. This release is well recommended if you really love these two Souvlaki album tracks and enjoy So Tired and Moussaka Chaos as well.
Please note that my disc colour is orange-brown (rust colour) and not red & gold swirled as d. I honestly don't mind one bit though as the disc colour reminds me of Rachel Goswell's lushcious golden red hair.
Setup:
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge - Gloss White
Triangle Elara LN01 Speakers - White
Yahama A-S501 Natural Sound Integrated Amplifier - Silver -

As others have stated. MOV does it again. Sounds wonderful, pressing and packaging is high quality. Worth the price of ission.

Edited 4 years agoMine is an opaque rust color. No swirls that I can see. Sounds great though. And the textured sleeve is super cool.
