Great album! As I just got into Bowie this is the one I have spun the most in my car, it has best of both Bowie worlds with electronic and rocky sounds. Great listen, great pressing.

Scary Monsters marks the end of the 70's aera Bowie. In many ways this is him reflecting on his past and is perhaps one of his most personal albums lyrically.
The (only electronic) track 'Ashes to Ashes' is a cynical ode to the song that started his career 'Space Oddity' in 1969, which has haunted him eversince. The innocent 'Major Tom' theme is mixed here with Bowie's own coke/heroin addiction in the mid seventies.
The other themes on this album are fascism (It's no game, Scream like a baby, Fashion and the title track), his own stardom (Teenage Wildlife), youth (Because you're young). It also includes a cover version of Television's 'Kingdom Come'.
The remainder of the album is hardly relevant for fans of electronic music, as it is more rock oriented than the legendary Berlin trilogy, but it is still considered one of his best.
'Crystal Japan' is an instrumental piece used in a commercial in Japan also "starring" Mr. Bowie.
