Great pressing, sound shines when played at a very loud volume... I had never heard this version of Space Oddity, I actually enjoy it more than the original version. Feels like a totally different song.

referencing Alabama Song (7", 45 RPM, Single, Stereo) BOW 5
Looking for variation with solid centre(small hole)
Let me know if you have it thanks -
Edited 5 years agoAs cool as it is to hear the Joe The Lion recording, which is closer to the album version than the live version from the Serious Moonlight tour, I can see why this has been in the vaults for so long. David sings most of it, but leaves out other bits, so it's clearly a soundcheck rehearsal and easy to see why it wasn't performed at the shows. As a die hard fan, it's something really cool to hear once, but it won't get a lot of repeat listens.

Edited 9 years agoDavid Bowie Official Facebook page published a photo of a pink vinyl version of Alabama Song with the catalogue number BOW 5 today. Does this exist? https://www.facebook.com/davidbowie/photos/a.424610777664.193516.30899502664/10153240029867665/?type=3&theater

The 'updated' version of 'Space Oddity' sounds almost exactly like a John Lennon track, with vocals offset against very echoey drums and quite sombre piano chords.
