A bit disappointed with this ngl. Doesn't sound horrible but feels really empty and flat. A few of the tracks sound better than others but a lot of it is just super quiet and thin. Sad because this is a record I've wanted to get for a while. Oh well.

After reading the comments, I was afraid but mine sound perfect, and the record (a clear one) is perfectly flat, amazing album anyway

Beautiful album which I'm enjoying more with each listen
FWIW I was disappointed with the sound until I switched to a quieter (and better quality) stylus / cartridge. It now sounds very nice, clear and dynamic -

Your guys' copies sound bad? I bought one recently, cleaned it, and it sounds great. I think a lot of the muffled sound comes from the mastering/aesthetic of the album, which is intentional (more LoFi). I think these sound pretty good.

I have the deluxe clear version and it just sounds muffed, surface noise here and there and overall it's sounds idk... bloated and quiet.

Edited 4 years agoMy pressings sounds fine - for the minute or two I can listen. Came warped thus not playable. Would not recommend this pressing based off the hit or miss quality.
EDIT: I received a replacement copy from Ninja Tune for the pressing defect. This second copy also came bent and warped but this was due to the Ninja Tune not putting fragile stickers on the packaging. Moral of the story: this version of the album on vinyl sucks. -
Edited 5 years agoDisappointing to see this pressing is hit or miss with quality. Mine is excellent. Obviously inferior to the FLAC release, simply due to the amount of surface noise, which is not atrocious, except for quiet areas such as the intro to 'King of the Hill.' It certainly sounds more than acceptable on my Rega P2 with Ortofon 2M Blue, and any shortcomings are easily made up for by the beautiful packaging. The holographic obi strip looks great under good lighting and the gold foil on the cover is awesomely complemented by the matte black finish. Gatefold is of decent quality, but if you're concerned with preservation, you might consider using the obi to hold it shut.

Don't get deluxe, It is a huuuuge rip off. The music itself took 6 to 7 listen - overs to accept it.
