Kylie* – Step Back In Time (The Definitive Collection)

I am such a big Kylie fan, but it doesn't means that I love nor agree everything she does. The vynil version of this compillation is just ok. A more-than-30-years career can't be summaryzed in just 2 discs. The selection is very average. For example, I would have prefer "The One" instead of "Kids". Plus, she released the single "New York City" as part of this compillation, and does not appears in this album. I still feel that her "Ultimate Kylie" is her best compillation ever.

It's a good pressing, albeit with a slightly odd track listing. There's a heavy slant towards Kylie's more recent hits, despite numerous omitted earlier hits not only being better songs but also charting higher. I would have ditched 2 Hearts, Dancing and Wow for Hand On Your Heart, Wouldn't Change a Thing and the hugely underrated Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi. Really, this should have been a three disc set to avoid these issues and then they could have also included the likes of Never Too Late, What Do I Have to Do, Turn It Into Love, Got To Be Certain, Confide in Me and Where the Wild Roses Grow.

It's nice to have her 2000s hits on vinyl, which sound much better than their digital counterparts,
I wish it was a gatefold and lyrics/pictures of Kylie were included instead of just simple credits,
although i must say the packaging and the color of the vinyl are just gorgeous.

I was also shocked to find out that there are 42 tracks on CD but only 20 on vinyl,
3LP or 4LP edition would have been much better like Madonna's Celebration

Reviewing every record in my collection:

Ok I'd say this pressing is a Solid 8/10 for me, the first disc is worth this compilation alone, both tracklist and sound quality are marvelous, no complaints at all. The second disc is much less exciting because the track selection is quite mediocre and the sound quality isn't as clear, especially on the last tracks of each side

Imo if you are a fan of the PWL era just go for the gorgeous 1992 Greatest Hits album, if you want to listen to her 2000s material on great sound quality go for this one

Plus; the color of these vinyl records is BEAUTIFUL, images don't make them enough justice

Can anyone tell me if this is a gatefold and are the printed inner sleeves the same design as the Picture discs version?

Okay, the quality of this pressing is amazing. Not one pop or anything, quiet as can be.
But she song selection of the vinyl release is ridiculous. No Loco-Motion? No Got To Be Certain? No Hand On Your Heart? No Wouldn't Change a Thing? No Tears on my Pillow? No What Do I Have To Do? No Give Me Just a Little More Time? No Celebration? And not even the new track New York City?

The vinyl release could have done without Wow, In My Arms and Kids. In those places should have been some of her older hits. That said, this should have been a 3 disc set, or even a 4 lp box set. Missed opportunity!

Chocolate is her #2 most played song in platforms… Red Blooded Woman is in her top 15 too… where are they ?! Why they didn’t release it as 3 or 4 LPS?

Red Blooded Woman deserved better - shame they didn't include it.

Timebomb and Skin aren't on it?? i would have been happy to get all the other songs, as long as those two were on the tracklist....but they're not....no thank you

Sound quality is okay, but could have been much better, songs feel a little bit flat, Dancing is compressed to death.
