Edited 10 years agoAlong with "Horace Silver and the Jazz messengers", this and Volume 2 of "At The Cafe Bohemia", both taken from the same set, are the only recordings to capture the original ensemble featuring the excellent Kenny Dorham. Listening to this you can easily imagine being sat in the New York club almost 60 years ago. There's some nice tracks on here, "All Alone" and "Prince Albert" are my favourites from the original, and the CD release contains bonus tracks including "Lazy Bird" and "What's New" which are also both really decent.
