I have this 2015 pressing and the new one from 2025. I find this black version quieter than the crystal clear version which tends to show imperfections when you turn up the volume. I think for fans you should own both versions because I have the signed version. -
Edited 4 years agoAfter a quick comparison with my 2008 DDM cut I suppose Im giving the new one the honor.
They are not very different at all and any of my attempts to compare fairly are hindered by a slight difference in level from time to time. Overall though, the new 2018 KR cut from Optimal seems to go a little deeper on the bass, other small differences can be found in the tonality of strings which may be better for the 2008 and Iconography may be slightly less constrained, but these differences vary a bit from track to track with separation and placement differences.
I will say though, that Iconography does distort a bit in the middle on 2 2018 copies I tried, its very brief and only on the left, might be a minor cutting error.
The bonus disc is always nice, but doesnt contain any revelations or must hears I dont think.
Both are near equal respectively and you wont do much good in having both I dont think. The new one does have the extra disc but I do like the cover of the older, choice choices...

OK, after reading the replies to the question on pressing quality, I was in two minds about buying this or just sticking to the hi-res digital version. However, after listening to the record, I’m glad I bought it. The sound quality is magnificent and the vinyl is flat and quiet.
The dynamic range is fantastic, with superb depth & warmth to the bass and an overall naturalness and spaciousness to the music. -
