Very raw and basic but it works so so well. The melancholy in this tune, something for me that makes great music, is abundant. "Request to all thy acid people" - that's what I always imagined the vocal was saying.

Edited 5 years agoI used to go crazy at the rave over this one ! time and time again. this 909 beat is so powerful here.
On all copies the 1st kick drum is truncated on the attack, it is NOT the record!
SUAD still getting away with sampling the hell out of everything back on the early records. -
Lamborghini is obviously the dance tune here and its a killer! It's one of those tunes. Everyone knows what sample it uses Eurythmic's 'Sweet Dreams.' And it is used oh so well ... it still sounds fresh today. "Change soon come" is just deep! No other way to put it. Using a cinematic sample and voice samples from Dr King it's some piece of music, the message is one of hope! All in all a great early 12"by the SUAD crew.

Edited 10 years agoThe sample details above mention that the bleeps on Lamborghini were sampled from Tyree 'Acid Over'. But I was always under the impression that that sound was sampled from Fast Eddie's underrated and underground, bleepy acid house classic 'Keep On Dancing' from his debut album 'Jack To the Sound.'

Great tunes. As well as the obvious Sweet Dreams, both tracks on this 12" sample from "Around The World In A Day" LP by Prince.

The B-side of this 12" is a really good UK Hiphop track. Hiphop contributions by predominantly dance acts like Shut Up & Dance or Rebel MC often get overlooked. Hiphop fans shouldn't sleep on the likes of "A Change Soon Come" or "Black Meaning Good". Almost everyone active in the Hardcore/Jungle scene previously been very influenced by late 80s American Hiphop and were just as skilled in crafting Hiphop beats as the established rap producers of the day.

Edited 19 years agoSUAD are awesome - such a pure example of underground UK '89 house it never ceases to bring back that underground club feeling, even if the club happens to be a disused warehouse. This one is proper '89 stylee and a irrefutable underground house classic!
