Notes

Available exclusively through “bricks and mortar” record shops and also for the rest of record shops around the world.

""....will only be available as a strictly limited edition one-off run in ‘bricks and mortar’ stores and their online storefronts, but will not be available from online only retailers".

White hype sticker on lower right corner of the shrink wrap: 'Limited edition gold vinyl'.

6000 copies made available to UK stores.

The gold edition reissue of David Bowie - Hunky Dory was pressed in a “one-off” run.

Note that the lyric insert drops the question mark punctuation for track A4 ‘Life On Mars?’.

Front cover artwork by George Underwood & Terry His Partner at Main Artory (London).
"I played some guitar, the saxophones and the less complicated piano-parts (inability)."

David Bowie

Note that ‘Main Artory’ is in fact a misspelled credit by Bowie when in fact it should be (and more fully) Main Artery Studio.

Is this pressing AAA like the gold Ziggy Stardust reissue?

Having had an original since late 70s I was skeptical of a remastered version. I shouldn't have been as this is kind of magical. Nothing is lost from the mix, nothing drowned out just magical. New discoveries within the mix for my ears. Highly recommend and excellent quality for my copy.

I have numerous pressings of this album, but always grab this one. Pretty and sounds great!

I haven't heard this pressing but I have seen in the store that the front cover is reddish compared original artwork.

Mine skips on the first track during each chorus. It goes 'ch-ch-changes' each time. The rest of it is really good though, 'for a digital remaster'.

My copy of this pressing sounds very good. A clean and a couple of plays have almost completely removed the surface noise.

I feel lucky after having seen your comments. My version is excellent with no cracks, jumps or anything strange. I would agree that for a digital remaster the sound is really good.

My version has cracks all the way. I'll use the clean machine to see if its better

Needed a few cleanings, then seemed to play fine. Not the greatest version of the LP, but I did not have a vinyl version, and I like the color vinyl releases. The gold color is nice. Hopefully the Bowie team will issue more stand alone titles (in colors).
