This was on a jukebox in a pub I used to frequent. We used to put it on 3 or 4 times in a row, espcially when there was some straight looking people in there. We used to crease up, as did the bar staff. Good times.

French Kiss is one of the most important and influential electronic underground tracks in the history of music.

French Kiss is basically one of the most influential songs in House Music and the late 80’s. Infamous for its moaning part near the middle of the song. Make sure you don’t play it loud near your parents or they’ll hit you with a chancla (sandal). Jokes aside I actually love French Kiss and Jupiter. Dance your ass off like you don’t care!

The quality of this pressing has all the characteristics of coming from the low quality control dungeons of Larry Sherman’s Trax pressing plant. I could be wrong but it sure looks that way. Large spacing of the inner matrix grooves, cheap paper labels that show signs of ink transfer from other same labels stacked, sharp uncut finishing of the edges of the vinyl, strange subtle hiss noise at certain spots of rotation at intro (my copy looks mint). I really can't see why this track is so revered, tbh. It's really nothing special, and sex moaning in songs is really cringey as well. I mean, it's not terrible, but it seems to have this air of reverence around it, and I think largely, it's underserved. Wargames on the flipside is also absolute bilge, bordering on unlistenable.

Of all the releases of French Kiss, the reason to pick up the original 12" is because of Jupiter - proper top quality acid house!
