Eurythmics – Revenge

Excelent ... By far the best Eurythmics album Top Top

At first this sounds overly compressed and shrill and it is.

Excellent album but the copy I bought, which looked like it had barely been played, had very noisy vinyl, and also sounds quite compressed. A CD or streaming would be much better option than this one.

LOL. “Translucent” brown means it likely used Quiex II which resulted in a quieter playback (less surface noise), not that is extra thin and cheap. Quiex II was a pure vinyl formulation that was colored with dye rather than the more commonly used carbon black (which has coarse granules and creates noise)

It is something I seek out whenever possible and is definitely something worth mentioning.

Really great sound compared to the early U.S. pressing. This early edition has much better output, and has blue in the CD spine not red.

A tight succession of hits on side A, followed by ho-hum filler tracks on side B. More than a touch of '80s digital glare even on vinyl.

A high quality pressing, flat, with quiet surfaces. The sound is excellent, does not sound compressed. Have the original CD. This sounds better.

Revenge marked the highpoint of the groups commercial success and depicts more or less the themes they started with their first album "In the garden" with great clarity. Ever took a closer look at the album cover and Annie Lennox eyes?
If you know what that means, you know the truth about the garden ...

One of those 80's albums that is so chock full of hits that it plays like a best of. One of the big groups of the time at the height of their powers!
