Maybe the best live rock album of all time. Wide range, crisp, great pressing and The Who in their prime. I highly recommend the 3 record release because I Tommy is played nothing but brilliant. John Entwistle had an amazing sound 55 years ago - crisp, dynamic, full bodied with a nice amount of natural overdrive on it. His technique was already outstanding. One of my favorite albums in my collection. Buy it! -
The Labels do not look like the 1970 press: https://discogs.versitio.com/release/7381444-The-Who-Live-At-Leeds - this must be a later 1970s Reissue

Picked up this complete German press in Mint condition and I gotta say this is absolutely a stunning version of the album way better than that half speed version, noisy in some places but much quieter than you think, if you don’t want to fork over allot for a uk and want something in the level of quality vinyl wise I say get it you will be happy.

Wonderful sounding vinyl, excellent musical content of course. Pretty much perfect, and the best way to hear the album, at least in my opinion. Totally recommended. -
I love hearing John Entwistle’s ripping bass lines on this album. Loud and clear. This record showcases just how great he was.
-
A masterpiece in music history and a time piece on vinyl. The sound is as good as it can only get given the original recording on analog mastertape and mixing. Great works by CB at BGM. The 140g pressing plays very well without any significant faults. Still highly recommendable!

It could be argued that LIVE AT LEEDS is too short and "My Generation" is too long, but this is still one of the most legendary live albums of all time, capturing a powerful band at their peak. Recorded while touring TOMMY but containing no tracks from that album, other than a brief snippet of "See Me Feel Me" in the middle of the "My Generation" jam. This pressing sounds mighty fine, despite the "crackling noises ok" disclaimer - there's ample low end, drums and guitars are suitably punchy, and the soundstage is lively and spacious. My copy plays nice and clean with no surface noise of note.

I cannot understand in any way the reviews in which people complain about background noises in the almost 6 decades old source material. Besides that mine came in perfect condition, centered, flat, absolutely clean. I really don’t like these kind of blank inner sleeves but why else one should always have at least a dozen of Nagaoka Innersleeves as a reserve?
Of course there are some sounds on the tapes which have been mastered carefully. So what?! You become witness of The WHO in their absolute prime as a live act. This is so incredibly good. This version of Tommy is mind-blowing! The whole recording is amazing, outstanding atmosphere and an ass kicking performance by the band which is extremely present and defined nevertheless! And the mastering is crisp! The range and cleanliness especially of the high frequencies is astonishing and is so fundamental in the band’s sound - in wild cymbal rides of Keith Moon or in John Entwistle cutting through like a chainsaw.
If you want to hear why The WHO have this G.O.A.T. legacy when it comes to live performances in the classic age here you go and you go the full distance of a show back then!
This and Deep Purple’s Made in Japan are my absolute favorites when it comes to classic rock live-albums. -
