Dire Straits – Love Over Gold

Je posséde l'original français, et celui-ci, a comparer est de trés bonne qualité, même,supérieur ! Les guitares se détachent d'avantage, et la batterie est plus présente. Il y a plus de détails et de profondeur, pour une trés bonne dynamique. Le tout est équilibré. Alors, en effet, un bon équipement est sans doute nécessaire pour une bonne analyse ! Mais ce pressage est de haute qualité, Abbey Road a remasterisé cet album en dynamisant les accompagnements, ils sont donc plus audibles, et semblent peut-être surer un peu la voix de Marl Knopfler (pas du tout certain ?), mais c'est du trés bon travail dans l'ensemble, et je ne comprends pas les mauvaises critiques.

This pressing cut by SNB (in the deadwax) is very good but not as impressive as the original Canadian Masterdisk pressings that’s for sure! I feel like the Masterdisk pressing is a touch hotter and the detail is clearer. The SNB reissue comes close and probably sounds much better than the Rhino reissues from the last 15 years.

This label variant for this particular record is quite uncommon. I believe it was only on the very first pressings out the door and then it was quickly changed to the black smoke label (I do prefer that “look”). I obtained this 1982 plain orange Vertigo label version the same week this album was released at A&B Sound in Vancouver BC. It still plays flawlessly today! An audiophile pressing that really shows off your system.

Comparing this one to the MOFI 45rpm version and honestly there is so little difference. Perhaps the noise floor of the vinyl is lower on the MOFI but it’s so negligible once the music starts. Dynamics and soundstage wise they both sound pretty damn close too. The MOFI delivers an ever so slight more punch during peak moments but after convenience and price, I think the original Canadian Masterdisk is real winner!

Excellent pressing. Wide sound stage. Tremendous depth and detail. Flat and quiet vinyl, which is perfect given the dynamics of this record. My experience with MoFi has been hit and miss. This is definitely a hit! Highly recommended.

The Notes section above is confusing. It can be the 2011 DSD mastering or it can be the 2013, but it cannot be both. Which is it?

Awesome pressing! Mastered beautifully, clear and clean all instruments really stand out as it should be on a Dire Straits album. As usual, some masterful guitar riffs by Knopfler. Is it me or is this album underrated along with the song Telegraph Road? I realize Industrial Disease was the hit off this album and got the most air time, but man Telegraph Road though!?!?

I got this one (sealed copy) recently and it sounds awesome. Yes, some crud on the LP but it cleaned up nicely. Slight warp on one side. So yes, pressing could be better but it sounds phenomenal.

I have a stamped MPO logo on Side A with 24 339819 and Side B 24 339788. Made in sticker on shrink. My understanding is the 24 represents a 2024 pressing. Etched matrix is the same as shown with CB etched in deadwax as well. Can anyone help with MPO number?

My version is not translucent but normal black. Does anybody know if they were made on normal black vinyl as well? I've got Quiex ii and lent for promo... misspelling on Private invest... Mine sounds absolutely amazing as well.
