I own both this vinyl edition and the 2003 edition MFSL SACD.
I can clearly say that it is much more enjoyable to listen to this.

I have heard two pressings of this record, the Dutch and this Japanese King pressing. This version is significantly better sounding. The highs are more upfront and the mid to mid-low are more pronounced. The soundstage has depth which is not too wide like the modern pressings.

Also my pressing is dead-silent and has no noticeable noise during or in between the tracks. These CTI records are the same quality pressing like the Blue Note records King did during the this period.

Sublime recording... The B-side is one of the best performances in jazz ever. With such a line-up this just had to be a masterpiece, both musicians as well as recording-tecnicians and producer... Turn the lights low, take a whisky or good bourbon and let the music enchant you... Have fun listening!

Sounds good, no doubt - But it lacks some depth and body, it feels quite flat. Packaging and high gloss Gatefold are very nice.
