buying this in e.g.s. Records in bradford. ( god I miss record shops) this track was way ahead of its time and still sounds amazing along with quality bleep tracks from the warp label. It was a moment in music that was really good in my humble opinion. Great artwork on the sleeve also!! -

'The Theme' This really was something when it came out. A real head turner of a track, with that almighty LFO sub bass, those eerie bleeps, and acid lines.
on B2, 7 A.M. is a killer Detroit style techno tune, which is deep as they come. -

Unique 3 takes a huge BASS LINE influence from this seriously dope track https://discogs.versitio.com/Housemaster-Baldwin-Presents-Confusion-Zone/release/110784 that came out a few months before Unique 3 released the monster that is THE THEME! -

Really strong remix from Rhythmatic, acidy base line using lots of the original samples fused with a multitude of other old school sounds, and stepping up the pace, quiet hard in places, great break downs. Great alternative remix to the original. Rhythmatic what a pioneering band they were back in the day. Worth checking out their early stuff. Respect to Mark Gamble !!! Love the original of this too, which you get on this 12”!! -

Not a bad release, but a disappointing one nonetheless. The remixes on this don't really seem to get to grips with what's needed to update this massive tune. Of the 2 UK- Garage style mixes, Altern 8's mix fares better than Edzy's to my ears, but falls a long way short of what I expected from such a collision of old skool rave acts - where are the horns, the crowd noise, the OTT stabs? The Supernature version adds strings and a more housey vibe, but tellingly the best version is the 1989 Reconstruction, which simply takes the classic original and bumps up the tempo to a more usable (for today's dancefloors) 130 bpm or so, while not changing the pitch and key. -

A stone cold classic. A very early 'bleep' tune played at pretty much every rave in '89 into early '90 I'd say. Both mixes are superb, the Original Chill mix is better suited for mixing and is a touch more 'dancey' but the A side (featuring a pretty decent rap)is probably the best known - and the intro is a 'goosebumps' moment for anyone who was there back in the day....
