I missed the party first time around, but was happy to get the 2021 repress of this 11/10 compilation.
Has rocked many dancefloors.
Must have, mega recommended. -

In my ears the best compilation ever- when it came out in 2016 it was tastemaking for a lot of DJs and I will never forget playing a small gig just with this comp alone. Every track worked, magical and it still has that magic!!!! -

Probably the most exciting compilation in of world music grooves. We have both Steve Monite's "only you" both Livy Ekemezie, along with other amazing tracks.
Poor quality? Well... I don't think so, or... maybe BUT I find these productions much more vibrant than many current productions. I don't care if the sound isn't absolutely clear, for me it's as if that's part of the charm of this genre.
A must have for anyone who loves funk, rare grooves, boogie or world music. -

Got the 2021 reissue and it's an amazing package for the price, and sound/pressing quality is great to boot. Recommended -

Just the FIRST record is so loaded [Fellas Doing It In Lagos, Don't You Know, Enjoy Your Life, Ivory.. ] that you can simply let Only You, but lest be honest, why would you? the people that knows it loves it, and the bast majority of public in any dancefloor around the world does not. If someone gives you "that look" you can politely ask em to cut the crap and not be so snobish, after all a party is a party and in a couple of minutes another track will be playing.
And then you have 14 [14!!!] more amazing songs to groove to, included the frentic Don't Give Up and Burning Jungle, the exquisite groove in Ore Mi, the stupidly great bassline in Don't Stop That Music, even some proto electro tracks like Be My Lady and te Lexy Mella one, etc etc etc etc.
Really, if you are a disco/funk/grooves DJ this will feed your sets for years.
The price now is far from the initial, but this is almost certainly the best compilation of this kind of music [I mean groove, not even thinking in of African or World or exotic or any of that shty labels] -

Insanely high quality release. Sounds incredible, the print of the jacket is brilliant and the booklet is a nicely presented extra addition, as is the bonus 7".
Ignore the people who don't want 'singing with accents' on a Nigerian compilation album - this is worth absolutely every penny!
