Norah Jones – Feels Like Home

Bought both the original and the North American releases of this German Optimal Media GmbH pressing - deadwax markings are identical on both of my copies. Unfortunately, both of my copies suffer from very similar subtle surface noise.

Both of my copies also seem to lack detail and presence. I do not have a reference system, but in my opinion, the 24-bit/192kHz qobuz stream is better than this pressing.

The pressing is good, even if there is still a little (too much) surface noise. But it remains very pleasant.

My copy matches the matrix saved here and the shrink wrap included the “Made in ” sticker on the back, bottom right corner

Does this version have a black on white "Made in " sticker on the back? If not: what version has?

I own every 33 RPM pressing of this album and can easily say that this is the worst sounding version of the album released thus far. Just comparing the original blue note release with this German pressing is night and day. The instruments and vocals sound muddled, and there's a noticeable amount of surface noise throughout. Unless you're a completionist like myself just don't bother seeking this one out.

Quiet, punchy dynamics, great vocals. The imaging is exceptional. Some.small surface noise on a couple of songs but could be dirt. My jacket says printed in UK and record has different run-out than any of the copies listed here (including the European ones). Is a 200g version missing from Discogs?

My sealed copy came with a light scratch on the A side, from the factory. Also, the inner paper sleeve left cellulose dust over the whole surface, so it required thorough washing and replacing with proper sleeve. I will still give it 5 stars, cause I love the record and it’s a very good mastering, scratch the scratches.

This is as good as this and most Norah Jones albums can be given the poor recording source. Distorted moments occur from time to time.

as far as the copy protections go, yes there was time, around the 00's era of years of this and many many other releases, that yes, the big music labels were thinking we must somehow guard against ripping and illegal file sharing of audio discs, so this is one such release that's encumbered by these "DRM"-technologies to try to limit lawful and unlawful use of these products. in time, and some lawsuits battled out in many courts later, and the big record companies finally gave up on these practices and haven't released handicapped CD's since. and yes, i'm very careful here, because these types of discs bearing these mechanisms can't technically and legally be called CD's as they break the Philips-Sony owned Red Book CD Audio standard.

I little shy in the hi ends but excellent bass and voice projection! Recommend
