And why do the mouseover-dropdowns (Buy Music / Discuss / My Discogs / etc.) not work anymore?
s.pixogs.com is always trying to load in the status bar endlessly when accessing Discogs.
Running Win 7 Professional 64 Bit.
Dropdowns don't work both on Firefox and Chrome.
Reboot doesn't help.
Bug first encountered yesterday, apparently only in affect during the working hours in Portland, while rest of the day all works fine. -

heidelbaer pixogs.com is the domain that our static assets (images, JS, etc) are stored on. If you are accessing a page that has many images on it, you'll see pixogs.com in your status bar. -

pixogs does virtually always hang in the status bar. on EVERY discogs page. and i doubt that sth. like the forum start page having not one image on it afaics is very image heavy actually.
the "Quote selection" function does also not work btw. as well as loads of other functions that are currently reported in the Discogs General forum.
for example here: http://discogs.versitio.com/help/forums/topic/360797 -

If a page has CSS or JS on it, those files will also come from pixogs.com. pixogs.com is located at 7 different data centers in Europe alone, so the chance of it being "down" is low. Have you tried using OpenDNS or Google Public DNS? -

ehhh...what you say? i'm a . ;-)
and many others have the problems too at the moment.
there is one thread popping up after the other.
apparently there's functionality problems all over the website. -

How about: Your computers doohickey might have a problem talking to our site's whatchamacallit. Because of this, your computer is not able to those thingamajigs.
You could try clearing out the browsers cookies and cache (on the slight chance something is corrupt), and see if that helps. -

pkanz, we're all having the problem with non-working pull-down menus, and the non-possibility to reply to PMs we get, it's browser-independent; and no, clearing browser cache doesn't fix it. (As you can read in the initial post, someone even rebooted his PC, heh heh...) Please take a look in Discogs General to know more...we're not making this up. Really.
BTW, partial quoting of posts here in the forums is also broken. Maybe some javascripts got moved to hell or summin' so that Gecko engine can't find 'em ... =P -

For what it's worth, I personally haven't noticed any issue with menus / updating releases/profiles / ing pictures tonight? -

They still work for me. Running Firefox 18.0.1 on openSUSE 12.2 (Linux).

No, all of us are not. I am not. -

Maybe it's an Europe-only issue!
(or even only affecting certain parts of Europe in particular)
Most 'oggers where it works fine appear to be located in the U.S. Whilst I'm Booh-ropean.
timetogo could you do me a favor by trying a ping on s.pixogs.com from where you're located? Are you getting a different result than I'm doing here? ( gs1.wac.edgecastcdn.net / 93.184.220.20 ). -

Definitely there had been an issue yesterday - at least in Europe. I couldn't use the 'Reply' button in my in-messages and also couldn't use the 'Leave ' button. Today it's back to normal. And I tried both in Windows Explorer and Firefox, latest versions, Windows 7 64 bit -

^^indeed.
next time i could maybe try proposed DNS thingie.
odd though that it always happened ~ between 18.00 and somewhen in the early morning CET in the last two days...
so guess what i assumed... ;-) -

Nexus thanks for the confirmation.
It's now back to normal here, too.
Thanks to every sane person involved in fixing this.
staff is traditionally tight-lipped (not exclusively on Discogs): they know when there's a problem (or, they may get a mail from the server s in Europe that some server went wonky) but only once in a blue moon they will publically it there was something wrong. Rather, you'd get a stupid instruction to re-install software XYZ 97 times, reboot your pc 1234 times or restart your browser/clear its cache several dozen times.
I've coined up a term in "kitchen Latin" for that: operatio nebula (where "nebula" stands for mist, by deliberately giving you pointless instructions to obscure instead of reveal the actual, embarrassing issue behind it)
The only site EVER I know with "doors open wide" to the istration is zippyshare.com, who do consider the gross of their s technical enough to understand a technical explanation. Plus, they can live with the fact that some might not get it. I like their policy; since it gives people the impression not every single is treated as a total computer/internet rookie.
With some sites, some or all of their s think every is a technical idiot and "will surely not get any word if we get into detail". Yeah, right.
Hah no. It's actually the non-ability to it mistakes, if there are any. Or, in U.S. IT jargon, "wear the brown paper bag"! =D

Same here regarding the menus. I also didn't had any problems with replying to pm's. Of course there was some kind of problem, all these people cannot made this up, however that wasn't for everybody. I'm from europe as well and I was logged in discogs yesterday by the time the problem occurred.
I'm using Firefox 18, Windows 7 ultimate x64, OpenDNS -

My dropdown menus disappeared for a period yesterday...
...but then returned and are appearing as expected... as at now!
