Any idea wich record(s) contain the most music in minutes (not the amount of tracks)? Also interesting from a technical point of view, to see how much you can squeeze in before its unlistenable. -

i guess the most ramones tracks are between 1 and 3 minutes long so this is not so much then. at least not record breaking. -

From what I've been able to find, maximum recommended is 22 minutes per side, but that can be increased with a loss of quality. I found mention during a brief Google search of records being made up to 35 minutes per side. -

iam pretty sure there must be longer ones, this is one i found recently http://discogs.versitio.com/Walter-Marchetti-Natura-Morta/release/2973108
i came across this thought, because a william onyeabor compilation is released as single cd/3x12" and on the vinyl is more music ( in tracks and time) as on the cd. obviously because of space, or to give the vinyl collectors something special, because a second cd would be the solution then. -

As far as I can , you can press about 10 minutes of music on a 12" record (at 45 RPM) or 13 minutes (at 33 RPM) without loss of volume. Anything beyond that means a compromise between duration and volume/quality. I prefer less than 15 minutes per side, over 18 is too much IMO. However, durations can be longer if the music doesn't have loud bass (some ambient, for example).
Personally I don't like the LP format very much because of that compromise. Luckily most albums are slit on 2 or more 12" records these days. But I'm avoiding any 80s compilations with over 20 mins per side after buying this one: Various - House Hits The B side has 29 minutes of bass heavy house music pressed on it... the record is totally useless, it sounds just awful.
Edit: checked some facts at http://www.dubplates-mastering.com/faq.html -

I don't have this Ramones LP and I don't know how it sounds, but I own the CD (with the same number of tracks [33]):
http://discogs.versitio.com/Ramones-The-Loco-Live/release/649251
and it clocks in at 69:55, which is quite long I think.
Outside of discogs there was this discussion:

about this record I think:

This Dream House record is very interesting indeed - thanks for hint! -

This one runs about 65 minutes I think.
I used to have it. On the back is a blurb telling how they made it. I tried to copy and enlarge it but the resolution isn't there. Quieter tracks were mastered so the grooves are closer together. Louder ages the grooves are spaced wider, naturally. -

Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Get Happy!!
Don't know if it is "record-breaking" in length, but there is a note on the liner about this issue and "groove cramming." -

I have a DJ-tool vinyl that has hours and hours of music per side.
Okay it's a locked groove, you didn't specify the rules. :-P -
