Mastering: isnt good, thin and no Bass -
A horrible pressing. Tinny, thin, zero bass or oomph. Go pick up a cd version, even a cassette would be better!

This one sounds pretty weak. Too trebly, weak on lows, messy soundstage. Dirty record, warped. Cleaned it and compared it with my old German CD, which is much better. Don't know about other pressings on vinyl, but seems like you can just buy old CD if you're primarily interested in sound quality.

Edited one year agoSounds terrific on my system. Loads of bass when it’s meant to be there - for example, on ‘Janie’s Got a Gun’ the bass absolutely cooks and is super prominent. A great pressing of a great album. Buy with confidence.

The pressing is really good actually, quiet vinyl and no inner groove distortion. BUT the bass is not really punching this one through. Don’t know if this is the master for this issue or if the mix was supposed to be like that..

A great groovy album by the band. I'm not a fan of Aerosmith, but I like this album for its fun performance. The album is on one vinyl disc. The disk is flat with a slight center offset. The mass is quiet, clicks are rare. Priority in the sound of medium and high frequencies. There is very little bass - the subwoofer helps. The bass is clearly audible only in the last two tracks of the album. The stage is wide, the balance is even. The outer envelope is simple in execution. The inner envelopes are made of thick paper with photos, without an antistatic liner. For me, it was the first disk that I had to wash immediately after unpacking - a lot of paper dust from these inner envelopes. In general, the cover, discs and content are good: 4 out of 5.

Have now had a second copy where there's a constant click / tick at end of track 2, side 1 and right through the talking intro of "Love in an Elevator". Annoying as hell and will return.
-
Good enough that I’d keep it… Sound is clear with ok separation. But the bass sounds like an entire layer is missing, which drags down the dynamics too. Maybe one day we’ll get a great remaster.

Edited 6 years agoGreat reissue! Highly recommended, deep sound, wide, clear, dynamic. No inner groove distortion (I have at440 so great tracker until the end of side). Lot of factory debris after opening but velvet brush + carbon brush and no sign of it at all.
