Short version - worth spending £10 just for the pleasure of acquiring a decent albeit CD copy of Tony Wilson's 1982 majestic 808 infused 'Hangin' Out In Space' (and I'd have added the Dan Lacksman track if it hadn't been reissued last year).

Long winded version: It's now 2021, five years after the release of Ritual Chants and you can still pick it up in mint condition for less than £10. The quality and quantity of the tracks (a few from needle drop I'm guessing) are exceptional, as are the remastering efforts (though obviously subjective at a certain level).
I'dd suggest it's their best compilation release to date (which given the quality of their compilations so far, both official and unofficial, is a high bench mark) and the sheer range of musical styles and genres spanning fifty odd years is a pleasure to wade through.
Some of the tracks are mortgage inducing rare as rocking horse shit holy grails and some not so. What has always impressed me about Psychemagik is there 'good music is good music is good music' approach to compilations as it would be so easy with a record collection as vast as theirs to go down the 'too rare to share' route or equally it's flipside, the 'so expensive, we'll only include obscure three/four figure tunes' vanity approach.
While I'm guessing the label will have released far more copies of this release in comparison to past Psychemagik compilations, there will still come a point where the current low price flips so do the sensible thing now and buy 2 copies which you can get for the price of a single CD import.

Went out hiking along the Swedish east coast a few days ago. The leaves are changing colour, the breeze was fresh, migratory birds were going south. And along the shore seals were playing. And me, I ate some cubensis chocolate and listened to Ritual Chants CD1. Ohhhh what a blissful experience. Perfectly compiled journey, no weak point. Deep, sensual and sometimes very emotional music. Thank you Psychemagik for once again delivering such a wonderful package of obscure beauty music. And still I have two more CD's to go!
