The buffed wall / building with the blue stripe in the "Australia" music video is located at: 7603 NE Vancouver Plaza Dr, Vancouver, WA 98662. It's the side of a PetSmart store. Check for the two pipes on the side of the building and old gray paint still on the building. :21 is directly behind the PetsMart. The car lot in the video is right next door to the PetsMart: NE Auto Mall Drive, Vancouver, WA. The sidewalk where the businessman with briefcase gets picked up at 2:45 is at NE Vancouver Plaza Drive where it meets NE Auto Mall Drive (look for the large Auto Mall sign and yellow pedestrian sign on Google Maps!). This is right across from the PetSmart buliding. The building at :58 and 1:58 is the Bank of America on NE Auto Mall Drive.

The first thing I noticed when playing this copy is that it sounds REMARKABLY good. Superbly clean pressing (both sides,) little to no surface noise whatsoever and it's incredibly well mastered. Listening to it straight from my pre-amp over headphones, the songs are full, vibrant, and deep. I'm fond of this album -- not one of my all-time faves (great to put on when friends are over) -- but out of my collection of 50-60 records as of writing, I wasn't expecting this one to be one of the best sounding I own. I'd rate the album 4 stars, but I'm giving 5 for a superb job by Sub-Pop on the quality of the vinyl.

Played on: Music Hall MMF2.2, stock Tracker cartridge/stylus
      Pre-Amp: ART USB PhonoPLUS
      Headphones: Yamaha HPH-200
Prep: New sealed vinyl, no fluid cleaning, just a run of the carbon brush.

What a good album and a perfect pressing. A lot of mold release and faint surface noise, nothing to kill the pleasure.

'Chutes too narrow' was a nr. 1 on many end-years lists of 2005. The Shins with their melodic, catchy pop music (Beach Boys directly comes to mind) was finally discovered after the - maybe more genuine- album 'Oh, inverted world'. This new album is probably their best. Listen and believe!
