The unique atmosphere found here is unrivaled in black metal. We have not seen keyboards and synthesizers used in this manner before Mesarthim. A beautiful unorthodox mix of shrieked black metal screams, guttural death metal growls, percussion ranging from lumbering to relentless double kicks and most importantly, stunning synth and keyboard work straight from a liquid EDM playlist. A vastly compelling listen whether you have headphones on attempting to uncover every layer, or this is the soundtrack to your studying/work. This album came out of nowhere and I doubt it will lose its relevance in years to come.
Mesarthim pioneers a new frontier of atmospheric black metal dripping with ethereal synths and does so exceptionally. 8.5/10.
