First press, gold thick paper inner sleeve.

Two different coloured inner sleeves - gold for the first pressings and purple for the later ones.

P&C 1982 Virgin Records Ltd.
Made in: Summer '82.

Very similar to New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) which also has "Hedgehog's" in the runouts, but on that release both labels have the band name at the top and the virgin logo under the LP title, whereas here they are both missing from the A side.

Runouts are etched except for "TOWNHOUSE" and the stamper numbers & letters.

Have just picked this record up in secondhand pile. The band name is NOT on either side of the label. This is not listed on Discogs. MATRIX A2 B2 Townhouse on b side additional word “Hedgehogs”. Superb album

Great album, their best by a mile, fantastic pressing and mastering. Special mention to that bass on Colours Fly And Catherine Wheel.

One of my desert island discs,Promised you miracle says it all,Derek Forbes must be one of the best bass players in rock history and the other players aren’t bad either.Music from the early eigties don’t get much better than this. This music is so inventive in new sounds, arrangements, production what can you say just oustanding.Glittering price might be the best example of Forbes bass playing together with Mick Mcneill’s keyboard parts!.The of the band was really young at the time of release of the album just in the early twenties which make this even more incredible. If you like early 1980’s pop and rock don’t look no further.

Very fortunate to get a copy in like-new condition. It looks untouched and unplayed.
The sound on this pressing is fantastic--The analogue mid-range and treble are like a warm syrup poured over a throbbing foundation of bass.

Just wow, pressings like these remind us of why we listen to vinyl, it is flawless from start to finish.

I waited a what felt like a lifetime to get his for Christmas 82 from my Aunt & Uncle, but was worth the wait! Still one of my all time favourite albums, there aren’t many that I never want to skip a track on but this is one of the few, the sound is still so clear and deep on this, it’s still a pure joy to play after 40 years, I would never part with it and I doubt if anyone would want it with my 13 year old fingerprints all over the gold inner sleeve!

Does anyone know how this compares in sounds with the US Gold/Purple marble pressing?

                  Thanks in advance.

i have a copy with the a2 b2 runouts...there is no "virgin in a circle" on either label.

anyone else have this or know about it?

Is it just me or ar the this vinyl version slightly faster and Jim Kerrs voice a little brighter than you hear on the digital versions, like Spotify?
