Orchestration takes a backseat on this wonderful Milt Jackson record. Milt playing with a more muscular player than Connie Kay is a treat. The track with an on fire Freddie Hubbard and the cover of Horace Silver's "Opus De Funk" are standouts. My copy is flat, and noise free. Recommended.

I strongly disagree with the previous reviews. This record is gorgeous and filled with superbly tasty playing from everyone. It is a jazz record, not a funk record, though there are plenty of funky licks and moments (just not the kind of funk the other reviewers were looking for). This record is another demonstration that CTI, in addition to their fusion and jazz-funk, was putting out some of the finest, most adventurously played jazz of the 1970's. If that's what you're looking for, nab this album.

The beast of a lineup on this LP belies its Ambien-like ability to put the listener to sleep. Opus De what now? Please, this album contains about as much funk as a Kenny G track. Zzzzzz..
