Notes

With printed inner sleeve and poster.
Glossy cover, with the debossed EMI stamp on the back.
Runout inscriptions are stamped, and contain no additional inscriptions except those transcribed in the BAOI section as matrix/runout.
Cover, inner sleeve, and poster are made out of a thinner paper in comparison to the copies without the EMI debossed stamp on the back cover. Cover ~62g / Inner sleeve ~20g/ Poster ~48g.
There are also some color differences. This version's inner sleeve's photo has less vivid colors, and the "EMIL Schult" logo is of a lighter gray shade. Furthermore, labels are glossy and smooth to the touch in comparison to the other version without EMI stamp.
Both versions have identical runout inscriptions, and identical information on the cover's front, back and spine (positioning, and typeface/font).

Release 32349882: version without the debossed EMI stamp on the back cover. Weight: cover ~69g/ Inner sleeve ~48g/ Poster ~48g - poster seems to be identical for both versions. Other differences as well, material thickness (i.e. especially inner sleeve), color shade differences (i.e. inner sleeve, image side, colors are more vivid), labels' texture...

Fabulous pressing, I was blown away by how good this thing sounds, this is absolutely the copy to get if you can get your hands on one.

This is the record of the CENTURY. Full stop. Nothing else even comes close by. Thousandfold sampled... paved the way for ELECTRO and TECHNO and so much more (Electro Rap). And: minimalisc (shy?) European style (yes, not especially German style...). And: pure emotion transported via electronic music with a dance beat! Incredible... THIS would be the one and only record if I had to choose for an island.

Not nearly as good as "Autobahn" (1974) or "Radioaktivität" (1975), because mostly TEE is style over substance. Many of the songs "sound" innovative, but in of songwriting often it is one single idea repeated over and over and over again... "Spiegelsaal" and "Trans Europa Express" hardly have any musical substance - it's all about fancy sounds going back and forth, and those sounds do not sound as fresh as they did in 1977. It is not the first time that I am disappointed by the overly hyped Kraftwerk. I guess, I just stick to the above mentioned 2 albums, and that's about it.

Nicky Siano told the story that Steve Rubell got him fired from Studio 54 for playing "Trans Europa Express" in full length during a regular night. ("Oh not THAT Song!")

This is without doubt the best version. The German language works so much better than the English version. Schaufensterpuppen has a sinister undertow that Showroom Dummies lacks, and Ralf really gets behind this with his singing/narration in the German. There's a slightly comical twist when the song is sung in English. This is the classic era I always found they lost something after TEE, they became too clinical, which is what I suppose most folks like about Kraftwerk, but up to and including TEE they have this romanticism and it shows in the music.

I always loved the Orchestron choirs they brought a very subtle texture to the sound. Here the melodies are Mozartian in their simplicity and beauty, and the sound is crystal clear and pure. The album is steeped in nostalgia despite everything you would think. It's impossible to imagine the English or Americans making this album which is so Germanic and yet also so transcendent of any crass cultural nationalisms. In short, for me this is their finest album. Beautiful artwork too with this version, they got it just right. In a word this is Art.

This is the most melodic Kraftwerk album of all. Since it came out in 77 (I was 9) it was always on my favorite list. Just love it... the melodies are so catchy and together with the beats is a actually pre Disco. Incredible album. A must to hear if you dont it !

I have an identical copy but there is no EMI label on back of the cover. Vinyl had the correct labeling and matrix code. Is this an original first press, or repress, or even an unofficial??
Who can help me with this mistery??

I got an original copy of this, released in 1977 on kling klang, at least if I can trust the cat numbers and the pictures that I know and are shown for the original release. But I have one question, the vinyl of my copy is transparent, anyone an idea what that could mean? I think its not normal..
