Excellent original pressing, my copy is still very quiet with minimal surface noise. So much better than the digital reissue that ce out a few years ago and still at a decent price.

I was recently in one of my favorite records stores in Mass and a woman brought in a huge collection of LP's to the store owner. He let me check through the boxes and I found this in excellent condition. Just was playing it and WOW, this freaking rocks, Love you
"RL". Much better than the new Red vinyl version I already have. One of my new fav pressing by far, it just punches you! -
Edited one year agoAmazing album and great sounding pressing. Mine unfortunately was pressed with a misaligned stamper so there is some noticeable warble to the sound on side A, but it’s not unlistenable. Still glad to own an OG copy though!

Inherited this copy, in comparison to the 2015 remaster this has much more punch in regards to the drums and bass which slap you in the face just like you want it to. This is the definitive pressing I’d imagine

Found a copy of this album for $5 over the weekend. The cover was trashed and the vinyl itself was covered in filth, but I could tell there was a decent disc underneath the grime.
When I got home, cleaned it, and played it, I was blown away with how good this record sounded. Like the other reviews say, this is the pressing to get. Sounds good in almost any condition. -
I usually like to do detailed reviews, but I'm gonna keep this one quick - plain and simple, this record f*cking rocks.
Nowadays, there are so many marketing frills - 180g "audiophile" vinyl, limited color variants, deluxe gatefold editions, etc. etc. And I'm not knocking it, I enjoy all those things - whether I specifically seek certain things out or not, it makes record collecting fun.
But, this record is a nice reminder of what matters. It has absolutely none of those things - flimsy, old school black vinyl in a very basic sleeve. Yet it's a reminder that none of the frills matter - because it sounds incredible. -
I agree that this is an excellent pressing. Not a big fan of Rush, but this one jumps right out of the speakers at you from the beginning, with a great energy that you just have to keep listening to it!

A stunning RL hot stamper here! Do NOT settle for a modern repress or an inferior master by anyone other than Ludwig. The RL 1981 is the only one you will need of this.
