What a great album. For me personally, not a dance floor LP (like GPR or warp singles releases), maybe more for beard stroking but such a variety of sounds and styles. Techno, breakbeat, ambient, experimental, quite a smorgasbord but strangely cohesive as a whole. This LP is a great example of the way early british electronic music pioneers created their own sound, a sort of intellectual techno, intellechno? Shame the pressing is a load of crap! Bronze! ffs

Echo what others have said about the pressing issues. I bought mine on release and had all the AI warp releases on coloured vinyl. The best sounding one in the series was Speedy J ‘ginger’ all the others had issues. This and the grey vinyl Autechre lp are the worst.
Having said that this is a stunningly good record musically.
It’s light years ahead of most stuff from that time considering this was all midi driven and DAWs were hugely expensive and in their infancy. Most of this is made and recorded on hardware.
One of my top ten LPs of all time… -
Quality of this pressing is really bad. Had two copies both awful - get the regular issue on black vinyl..
