You know the pride one has when one has a new record and thinks it is going to set the world on fire and change the course of history? Then it doesn't? I don't believe that was the case with this record. Seven years on, it is a crate digging find though, nice enough to play but certainly nothing revolutionary upon release and you get the feeling these guys knew it. But pleasant! The band rocks mercilessly and give it their alt rock all, and the singer is just perplexed enough to sound like anything you heard on alt radio in the 90's much like the group America sounded like pretty much everyone from SoCal in the 70's. And it is just so darned earnest, i feel like a dick saying anything bad about it. Fairly liberal use of a certain four-letter word, not that I have issues with that per se but overuse of the word seems to diminish its potency like overusing a cymbal. Not really compelled to further explore their catalog but as a one off, decent enough.
